Quick and painless death you will not find. growing ancient, lost within the mine. we are daughters of the stone, wandering in time
windhelm had always been such a dreary place for the adventurer. stone walls intended to keep things out only became claustrophobic and intimidated her to a great extent. with her neck craned up, the stone seem to consume her and all the nord woman wanted was to leave. if she hadn't found herself compelled to do her part and fight for what she believed to be right, she would never have come to the city. still, the cold air was nice enough to almost weigh out the bland, grey landscape that the king's city had become. wrapping her furs around her tightly, she carried on into the main square. to the right of her was the grey quarter, a horrible, run down pit of scum and grime and inhabited by the poor dunmer that were forced to live there. to the left of her was the market place and the residences of the 'true children' of skyrim. if mjoll didn't respect the jarl and his cause so much, she would almost call him a tyrant.
after pausing for a moment, the lioness decided neither right or left but straight forward. the palace of the kings just a few yards away from her current standing. already, she could see how heavily guarded it was, much more so than the previous times she had visited. it was understandably so, after the capture and near execution of the jarl, it was only obvious that the guard would be increased.
nearing the gargantuan cast iron doors of the palace, mjoll was almost lost in awe as she stared at it for a few moments. it was such a striking piece of architecture and the adventurer couldn't help but compare it to the dwemer ruins that she had found herself scouring through only a few months prior. the fascination was so great, that it took her a few moments to realize that she was being addressed.
"citizen!" the lioness attention snapped towards the guard who spoke her way, eyes wide from the slight startle, "what is your business here?" the question was firm and intimidating, but mjoll replied without hesitance.
"i wish to see the jarl about joining our cause," she spoked, calmly and confidently before the guard paused for a moment.
the palace of the kings was a sight to behold, only to be compared with the amazing architecture of the understone keep. obvious amzement showed in her eyes as her gaze scanned the building, all the way to the throne where the jarl sat.
my jarl, this sister wished to join our cause," the lioness gave a small bow before addressing the jarl himself.
"it's a pleasure to be in your presence, my jarl," her greeting was sincere before looking at him with the obvious sign of strength on her face, "i wish to join the stormcloak rebellion and take back our homeland,"
